Mindful Beginnings
Since the 1979 founding of the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center by Jon Kabat-Zinn, the Center for Mindfulness (CFM) has expanded to be the premiere academic institution in the science, research and application of mindfulness-based practices.
Over this time more than 24,000 people have completed the 8-week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at the Center for Mindfulness. The programs we offer are based on the data and research that springs from this longevity in mindfulness, unmatched by any other academic institution.
The Oasis Institute was started by Saki Santorelli in 2002 and since that time over 18,000 MBSR teachers have trained with us worldwide. They are certified to rigorous standards, critical to ensuring integrity and fidelity of the MBSR curriculum.

Mindfulness Tools - October 14 - 19
Based on the 8-Week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR), Mindfulness Tools is offered for those who may not be able to participate in the traditional 8-week course. The program consists of 5 days of direct instruction, and we recommend taking it as a residential program (staying, vs. driving in each day) to fully immerse yourself in this program.
The program is highly participatory, supportive and structured, and includes mindfulness meditation practices, gentle stretching and mindful yoga group dialogue and mindful communication exercises.
